Our Clinical Practice & Hospital Residency provides a unique opportunity for high school students interested in pursuing a career in medicine, nursing, or another healthcare field. Participants will spend five days gaining real-world experience in one of Shanghai's leading private hospitals.
Receive mentorship from top physicians, rotate through various departments, engage in hands-on workshops, and more.
Exceptional student work from both programs will be selected for feature on an international healthcare innovation platform. This prestigious recognition provides a significant boost to your medical profile, showcasing your expertise and dedication to a global audience.
Location: Private Hospital in Shanghai
Overview: A 5-day intensive program (plus online sessions) designed to give students a realistic look at life as a clinician.
- Clinical Rotations & Access: Experience daily life as a healthcare professional through departmental rotations and rounding.
- Gain unprecedented access to hospital operations, including visits to the Operating Room (OR) and medical imaging departments (X-ray, ultrasound, CT).
- Skill-Building Workshops: Participate in hands-on medical simulations, such as suturing practice on artificial skin.
- Engage in specialized workshops covering gastroenterology (endoscopy and polyp removal simulation), psychiatry, and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).
- Receive first-aid training and participate in emergency room simulations.
- Mentorship & Networking: Daily "Physician Lunches" cover topics like the physician’s journey, career paths, and hospital management.
- Connect with industry leaders during a roundtable discussion on the future of medicine or a lunch with hospital founders.
- The Business of Medicine: Attend a "Healthcare Business and Innovation Bootcamp" exploring the global industry landscape and MedTech ecosystems.
- Participate in daily Harkness style debriefs on topics like healthcare data analytics, medical technology commercialization, and entrepreneurship.
- Deliverables: The program concludes with online reflection and writing sessions to help students articulate their experiences for future applications.
